What is NASA?

National Auto Sports Association, NASA, is a grassroots club racing organization in all 50 states across 15 regions.

During a NASA weekend event there are a lot of different driving groups of various skill levels that are on the track at different times during a day for approximately twenty-five 15-35 minute sessions. The non-competition groups who are learning how to drive are called HPDE (High Performance Driver Education). HPDE1 is the beginner group for people who have never driven on a racetrack and HDPE4 is the fast and advanced group who are ready to become future instructors, or competition drivers. This is the NASA ladder system that is so successful in developing competitors.

NASA has two distinctly different Competition Groups of Wheel-to-Wheel Racing and Time Trial.
